What to expect
The initial session:
Brows are a two step process. The first step to the process is the initial session/appointment. This appointment is to determine shape, size, and color. I prefer to keep the initial appointment very conservative being a makeup artist for as long as I have I believe less is more, and when it comes to a tattoo that is permanently on your face less is definitely more at the initial appointment. You can add to a tattoo but you absolutely can’t subtract. This first step is to see how your skin reacts, heals and how your skin holds pigment.
Step by step process
First, I have you lay down for photos before we even start talking about your brows.
We then begin to discuss your brows natural shape and your brow inspiration.
We then discuss your skin type, amount of oil production you produce, your lifestyle so we can pick what will ideally heal and age the best for you.
Then I begin to map your brows, during this time I ask to limit the amount of conversation as most people tend to have a lot of movement while speaking and my mapping method is very particular in measurements to your face. I take your face anatomy, symmetry, inspiration and how you naturally fill them in into consideration during this time.
If you have very unsymmetrical brows this will be put into consideration and we will discuss where we should remove hairs to balance your brows. I prefer that a client with highly unsymmetrical brows that we get them close enough to perfect. Most clients with unsymmetrical brows also have unsymmetrical eyes and creating a brow that is so perfect almost looks too perfect and it can throw off the balance of your face even more. I will give you my expert opinion but ultimately leave it up to you to decide how much upkeep you want.
Clients get full approval on shape, this is tattoo on your face please be picky about it, do not feel like you will offend me by not liking something. Your comfortability and satisfaction is my number one priority when shaping your brows.
The outline/mapping will appear darker and bolder than what they will look like after the procedure. This is hard outline so I know exactly where to stay within. The fronts can appear very boxy if you are getting microblading or fusion/hybrid just remember that area will spaced out strokes that mimic life like hairs. Strokes in the front will always appear longer initially than when they heal (they shorten about 30-40% when healed)
After we have your perfect shape mapped I will then take a look at your natural brow hair color and skin undertone to determine the most natural looking color for you. I will then let you ask any questions before we get started.
I will then use a topical numbing agent to numb you for 7-10 minutes prior to starting. If you are getting fusion/hybrid brows I will do the outline on the tails into the body of the brow so I have a nice crisp outline. This does not hurt, clients say it’s less uncomfortable than getting threaded or waxed, some say it feels like a baby scratch, some say it tickles everyone’s threshold of pain is different. Once the outline is done then I numb you before going any further into the procedure. If you are getting Powder/Ombré brows I do the outline and first pass of shading, this ensures a crisp outline and better color retention (this might be more uncomfortable than the other brow procedures but ensures the best color retention)
Once you are finished numbing we will continue to procedure, passes are required to get the right amount of color saturation so when healed they are even, soft, and natural. Secondary numbing is applied as needed so you continue to remain comfortable during the entire procedure.
I typically give you a peak once one brow is close to finished to calm any client jitters. It will seem like I’m doing so much that you’re going to look at your brows and they are going to be too much, showing you when close to being finished with one brow will show you that they look really soft and natural.
Once close to finishing both brows I may sit you up to check symmetry and make any changes as well as let you take a look at them
Once I am all finished you will be the first to look at them before ending the procedure.
Brows will appear bolder, darker, slightly swollen, and a little warm directly after the procedure this is totally normal.
CANT WAIT TO SEE YOU!
